Character name: Greenforce and Xplore (EU Thunderhorn)

Character class: Warlock and Priest respectively

Professions: Tailoring/Mining on Greenforce; Enchanting on Xplore, currently leveling JC as a second profession

Talent specs, gear level, Armory link (advanced mode): Greenforce is an ilvl 516 Destruction Warlock, Xplore - low ilvl (~505) discipline priest, my alt.
;

Respeccing: I am familiar with all warlock specialisations; in fact, I prefer both affliction and demonology to destruction. My current secondary spec is set up for the warlock green fire quest. As for the priest, I am trying out atonement healing in LFR at the moment, but I have experience healing on both holy and discipline; I consider shadow to be a sick joke and have never played it seriously aside from questing and dailies. Aside from that, I am willing to play any spec or build the guild may need and, in fact, find raid healing more fun than dps

Class Info:
- I like warlock because it is, and has always been, the best class in World of Warcraft - with all the variety of fun class perks, quests, best looking gear and, of course, survivability and pve damage and utility. I have mained the class since I stopped playing my old EU Molten Core account.
- As for the priest - I like both healing specs, versatility and different healing styles they offer. One of my old WoW friends has played superb priest and taught me a lot of things about it, which was originally the reason why I rolled a priest as an alt.
- Regarding stat priorities and rotations for lock: int > hit cap > haste > mast > crit; CoE > Imo > Conflagrate > Incinirate/CB @ 4 embers w/ dark soul and procs OR Shadowburn + Doomguard @ 20-30%; fel flame on the move; for aoe - RoF> F&B + normal rotation @ 4 embers
- Regarding priest: I am not yet 100% familiar with current disc meta. I am trying out using atonement as filler for now, but I am not sure how efficient it is in non-LFR setting
- Anyone can look these things up in a guide ;)

Raid experience:
- I have casually raided the absolute majority of WoW 10 man content when it was relevant. Ironically, however, due to reasons, guild dramas, busy lifestyle etc, there is hardly a single proper post-classic raid which I have actually finished 100%.
- High point of my raiding life are probably raiding Ulduar 10 Normal on lock (including Algalon tries on my priest - which is easily my favourite encounter in the game and the memory I am most fond of), with the majority of bosses killed. The majority of ICC 10 normal and some of it heroic. The majority of Firelands and 4.0/4.3 content 10 man normal on both priest and lock. Overall, I am experienced with raids despite having such a hectic raiding pattern. At least I hope so.

Guild history: I have returned to WoW after a 2 year long break. Before, I used to play on EU Blade's Edge and before that - had another account on EU Molten Core, where I raided a lot of classic/BC content as a fire mage. All guilds in which I have been are probably either dead, abandoned or moved servers.

When can you play:
- Weekends, most weekdays. Generally, if I am invited to raid I will attend regardless of the day and time
- I feel it necessary to include a small disclaimer. I will always prioritise real life events, meetings, issues etc which are reasonably important over WoW, subject to rare exceptions. However, I always try to plan my schedule in advance and if for some reason I am unable to attend an in-game event I will take all necessary steps to inform the guild of this, unless it is an emergency. I hope for your understanding regarding this matter.

Age: 21

Where are you from: I am Ukrainian, but I live and study in London, England. I am moving back to Ukraine for the summer. There has been a lot of stuff going on there and I have come back there personally during the winter events to support my family and aid the uprising as much as I could.

About you: My name is Alex, I am from Kiev, Ukraine. I have just completed my Bachelor of Laws degree at King's College London, UK, and I am currently in a limbo, of sorts, waiting for my exam results. I have a wide range of interests: I am currently learning drumming and I am a huge audiophile - although my tastes are rather esoteric. I've played tennis since I was 5 and love skiing. I am a sucker for classic tabletop games, like mah-jong or chess. As for video games, my current favourites are Quake Live and Anno 1404, but I play a variety of genres. My all time favourite is Hitman: Blood Money. I hate having fun and will oppose it at all costs. I am also rather wordy. It all comes with a law degree. Sorry.

Why do you want to join and what do you expect from the guild: Raids and dungeons are the main reason why I've always like WoW. I am really upset with some changes blizz has, and is about to implement in WoD, but I still want to try out Pandaria raids at some respectable difficulty before the next expansion - LFR doesn't quite cut it and is an atrocity against WoW and its community. I understand that my gear is sub-par. That's why I want to play flexi raids and maybe, when I gear up, I can be allowed into a proper raiding group. At the same time, I am doing my best to gear my chars up as much as it is possible in the circumstances.

UI and keybinds:
- I have always used the default UI on my lock, with some basic add-ons like recount and DBM. I find it decent, if you don't panic and can reach 9 and 0 with your fingers (I know I can...)
- On my priest, I have always used XPerl frames, though for now I find default UI adequate, with some adjustments.
- I will swap to other addons or bindings without a second though if it is actually needed and improves my efficiency in raids

Anything else: I have resubbed along with a friend of mine - who is aspiring to become a raid tank on his DK, named Sanic (EU Thunderhorn). If my application is accepted, I will appreciate if at some point you may consider him as a candidate as well. He's a good guy, albeit slightly inexperienced with tanking, but he is willing to learn and also played WoW for a long time.

That concludes my application. Thank you very much for considering my request and please, do not hesitate to contact me in-game or in any other way if you have any questions. All the best!

Heyo!

I have a question about your ui!
As a warlock our damage mainly comes from our trinkets and all of our procs, especially for affliction. Do you have any addons that can track your trinket procs, meta gem procs etc. ?

Edit: You might want to bind your keys aswell...

The binds are somewhat alarming, for instance your silence, in some heroic encounters the cast times of raid wipe mechanics is very short. For instance the Temple of the jade serpent adds on Garry heroic. If they are not bound you will be hard pressed to thumble around and hit these keys in time via clicking.

Same goes for portals and other defensive cd's which might save you at 20% HP appose to dying, and I very much doubt you can move your hands along the keyboard to hit 9 (rain of fire) efficiently ;)

As for talent choice, mortal coil is kinda aids vs shadowfury :)

I'l poke some officers to review this application further :)

Note: Been away a bit and might be a tad dated. Dag can yell at me if I'm wrong or say something stupid.

1: For secondary stats, you want mastery. Mastery pwns all. At low gear levels there may be a haste cap, but I can't imagine it being too high, especially with a spell casting boost in most raids. Moar mastery ^^.
2: For AoE don't wait for 4 embers to start F&Bing. The sooner you start the more damage, since it also gives embers. For 4 targets once you get rolling you can pretty much sustain it all the time.
3: With destruction as well as affli, or really any locks, as Sanky said, the mains strength comes form their snapshotting. Trinket procs are your best friend and can make the different between 100Ks worth of damage per chaos bolt and shadow burn.
4: You don't want to cap on embers and throw everything at once. You want to be casting Chaos Bolts on procs. Maybe save up and pop a dark soul.
5: Disclaimer: Depending if you sac or not: Don't chain chaos bolts. You'll clip your dot. Especially at your haste levels. THat can add up be the end of a fight.
6:In your opener, since all trinkets will proc, all other procs will go off, you will want to use a dark soul and try to get at least 2 chaos bolts off while everything is up ^^.

Again, what I said may be slightly out dated, as I said, Dag can yell at me for being wrong ^^. Or I might be incorrect and it might be different at other gear levels. But those are my 2 cents.
But, you did enchant and gem your gear, so that is a definite plus ^_^

Firstly, thanks a lot for your replies and advice! As I've said, I came back after a very long break from WoW and I still feel quite rusty, which is probably obvious. I will take all the advice in consideration and will try to fix some of the mentioned issues in near future.

Regarding procs, I will look into some add-ons which may be helpful. As for key binds, it will probably take some time to re-adjust, but it is something I am willing to do. Any advice on how to re-map my abilities comfortably will be very appreciated.

As for Mortal Coil...I guess I didn't wanna lose Death Coil. Just feels wrong not having it. Plus it's an emergency heal, so it's not completely useless I guess.

I will post updated info once I make some changes, will probably deal with it tomorrow.

I really do not like building that much haste as it can really make your CB's SB and Fire and Brimstone spells hit like wet noodles.

On my warlock I like to build my gems into full mastery and reforge more into haste making my mastery work well aswell as having the right amount of haste for my affliction spec and the right amount for my destro spec.

A quick update:
- I have re-gemmed and, to some extent, reforged for mastery over haste. My optimised build, supposedly, favours crit over haste but I didn't like the way it performs, so I will stick to mastery > haste > crit, since from what I've heard they are roughly the same
- I am finally revered with Shado-Pan and can enchant Jade Spirit, which I will do asap
- I tried several UI revamps but all of them felt convoluted and uncomfortable, to be honest. Nevertheless, I am currently trying out Bartender; I will rebind some of my more used secondary abilities, like interrupts and portals, to something more accessible
- Installed WeakAuras and OmniCC, liking them both, I am trying different settings and ability tracking for the auras
- I will be absent this Wednesday and Friday

I am not lazy, I am an effort minimalist.
Q: Horde currently has two very shoutable, very good battle cries. Wondering what I yell as an Alliance character when someone yells 'For the Horde'!?
A: Have mercy?
